What We Treat

Untreated mental health symptoms can have a profound impact on your overall well-being, often affecting your daily life, relationships, and sense of self. Ignoring or trying to manage these symptoms on your own can lead to a cycle of worsening distress, making it harder to find joy or function fully in daily activities.

Addressing mental health challenges with professional support not only helps in managing symptoms but also opens the door to healing and a more balanced life. Seeking help is a courageous step towards regaining control and finding hope, ensuring that you don’t have to navigate these struggles alone. Here are the areas of our expertise:

  • Depression: Finding relief and support to manage the deep sadness and hopelessness.
  • Anxiety: Helping you navigate and alleviate overwhelming feelings of worry and fear.
  • PTSD: Providing specialized care to heal from past trauma and build resilience.
  • OCD: Offering strategies to manage intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors.
  • Postpartum Depression: Supporting new mothers through the unique challenges of postpartum mental health.
  • Suicidal Ideation: Providing compassionate care and immediate support for those experiencing suicidal thoughts.
  • Teen Mood Disorders: Addressing mood challenges in adolescents with tailored, supportive treatment.
  • Bipolar Disorders: Offering a holistic approach to stabilize mood swings and promote well-being.
  • ADHD: Helping improve focus, organization, and overall functioning with comprehensive care.
  • Child Psychiatry: Specialized care to help children and adolescents overcome emotional and behavioral challenges, fostering their well-being and development.

It’s important to remember that self-diagnosis can often lead to confusion and unnecessary stress. If you’re struggling with any of these conditions, reaching out to a mental health professional can provide the clarity and support you need.

Our compassionate team is here to help you understand your symptoms, develop a personalized care plan, and guide you towards brighter, more hopeful days. Don’t navigate this journey alone—let us offer the expertise and support to help you find the relief and healing you deserve.

MEET DR. RESHMI SARANGA

Leads the Ketamine Department

"I’m Dr. Reshmi Saranga, President and Owner of North Carolina Interventional Neurotherapy, and I can help you experience freedom from overwhelming emotions that make your life difficult to enjoy. My heart aches for what you go through, and I’ll show you the same compassionate and attention care I show my own family.

I’m board-certified in adult and geriatric psychiatry. After initial training in India, I completed a four year residency at University of Kansas Medical Center, then completed a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center.

I’ve served in the capacity of Chief Resident and on the Committee on Residency and Fellowship with the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology.

You need a psychiatrist who has the education, experiences, and expertise to provide the very best, up-to-date, and compassionate treatment. I chose this training path to provide the most insightful care possible for my patients. I also speak three languages to serve my patients more effectively: English, Hindi, and Telugu.

Empathetic and compassionate care are an integral part of our practice, and it’s extended not only to our family and friends but to our patients, most of all.

When I’m not seeing my patients, I’m usually at home with my husband and our children or playing tennis. I love listening to music while cooking the delicious Indian dishes my family loves. My husband, Dr. Vinay Saranga, and I savor family time, and promote the significance of family for anyone."

Leads the TMS Department

Dr. Saranga studied basic sciences from 1998 to 2002 at the Medical Universities of Debrecen in Hungary, and Lublin, Poland. He then followed with Clinical Rotations at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.

In 2009, he completed his psychiatry residency at Wright State University at Boonshoft School of Medicine, in Dayton, Ohio.

Then, during the first six months of 2009, he served as visiting psychiatry resident in the PGY-IV program, which included a research elective in CAP clinics in Kansas City, KS. He followed this with a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship, also in Kansas City. After completing this fellowship in 2011, he took a teaching position as Assistant Clinical Professor there for a year.

After 14 years of preparation, Dr. Saranga opened his private practice in 2012, and has served as Medical Director for Easter Seals since 2015.

IV Ketamine Treatment AND Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

These two treatments have risen to show their effectiveness over recent years, and literature is showing them to be among the most effective treatments for many psychiatric disorders.

Ketamine has shown itself to be particularly effective with treatment-resistant depression or TRD, post-traumatic-stress-disorder or PTSD, social anxiety, and suicidal ideation. Provided in a series of infusions, or oral or nasal spray, ketamine brings a dramatic difference the first infusion in some, but more often the change is experienced during and after the third, fourth, or fifth infusion.

TMS is a non-medication and non-invasive treatment that requires placement of a magnetic coil over the left dorsolateral prefontal cortex daily for about 20 minutes at a time. This continues daily for about 30-45 days. But you can begin to experience a real difference in 14 days. TMS can be effective in treatment resistant depression and other mood disorders.

WHY OPEN THE NC INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED NEUROHEALTH?

As Dr. Saranga worked 10 years as a psychiatrist with his patients, he’s been distressed by the
percentage of them who did not respond to traditional antidepressants and anxiolytics. He
researched and scrutinized to find treatments that would bring relief to that segment of his
practice. His determination to find help for these patients eventually led to his opening:
